Texas Education Agency (TEA)
The Texas Education Agency is the state office that governs public schools.
TEA works side by side with the UIL to determine policies regarding all kinds
of aspects of education in Texas.

University Interscholastic League
Oversees most extracurricular activities in the state of Texas. UIL governs our
Region 18 Marching, Concert, and Sightreading Contests, as well as
Solo and Ensemble at the high school level.

Association of Texas Small School Bands
ATSSB governs the 1A, 2A, and 3A All-State audition processes, as well as the
All-Region process for middle schools that feed small schools. ATSSB also oversees
the Outstanding Performance Series (OPS) competition each year.

Texas Music Educators Association
Composed of music educators, advocates, and administrators throughout the
state of Texas. TMEA sponsors the state Honor Band competition, as well as
the 4A and 5A All-State audition processes.

Smartmusic Music Software
This is the website for the Smartmusic software we employ in our band program.
They offer sheet music for purchase to use with the program, as well as
technical support and musical exercises.

Software
Finale Notepad will enable you to write music
in the comfort of your own home for free, and open it in Finale
(available on the band computers). You can also turn your
