First Presbyterian Church of Smithville

   Children's Ministry

First Presbyterian Church of Smithville Sunday School meets at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays with classes for the Pre-K, Intermediate, and Elementary/Junior High age levels. These classes have Bible lessons, crafts, Bible games, and refreshments between Sunday school and worship service. Singing is a big part of the Sunday school program at FPC. The older age children also participate with the adult choir.

Once a month the children have a vist from the puppets of our youth ministry.  A favorite with the children, it is a unique way to bring the bible message to the children in a way that is both fun and meaningful.

Each summer, a vacation bible school and music camp is provided for the children in our community and is a highlight of the church year.  The dates for the 2011 camp are  Monday, June 13 through Friday, June 17 with performances on Saturday, June 18 and during worship service on Father's Day, June 19.  More information will be available soon!

The Sunday school children are also active in collecting can tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House and they are active in helping with Church worship by being acolytes and Chiming the Hour for worship. Confirmation Class is offered by Pastor Jane Johnson for the elementary and junior high students. Call the church office for additional information (512-360-5231).
